Nymeria had stayed close to the lake. She hoped that she could find some gazelles or other prey. The long grass would be giving her good cover. As she headed towards the long grass, she saw a movement. A dark shadow jumped out of the grass and landed right before her paws. She stopped and stared at him, her eyes wide open.

"Hey stranger!" he said.

Pinning her ears back against her neck she moved a step away from him.

"Stay away. I'm just here for some food or water. Out prey moved her. Let me hunt and I'll leave again" she hissed. Baring her long and sharp teeth and swishing her tail she watched him. It was a dangerous situation. Other lions didn't really accept lionesses of foreign prides hunting on their ground. At least this one was small. Even though she was hungry, she might have a chance.
